Kufuor receives special message from Benin President

Accra, Feb. 21, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor on Thursday received a special message from his counterpart in Benin, Dr Thomas Yayi Boni. The contents were not disclosed but the message is believed to be in connection with the upcoming local level elections in the neighbouring West African country.

Benin goes to the polls to elect representatives to the District and Village Councils in April.

Speaking to the Presidential Press Corps after he had delivered the message, Mr Hountondji Alexandre, Minister in-charge of Relations with Institutions and Government’s Spokesman, said his country was seeking Ghana’s support for a smooth conduct of the elections.
