Headmaster urges support to improve school infrastructure

Gye Wani Nkwanta (E/R), Feb. 15, GNA – Mr Benjamin Adu Ofosu, Headmaster of Gye Wani Nkwanta Local Authority School near Akim Oda, has called on the people in the Birim North District to support government’s efforts at improving physical infrastructure and the education sector. He made the call at a Parent/Teacher Association (PTA) meeting of the school on Thursday.

Mr Ofosu appealed to parents to pay school fees of their wards promptly to enable the administration continue to provide quality education for the children.

He said the school would continue to practise “open administration” and called on parents not to hesitate to call at the school when confronted with any issue concerning their wards.

Mr Ofosu charged parents to instil discipline in their children and not to pamper them, adding that the nation needed students who were dedicated, well disciplined and who were prepared at all times to serve the nation.

Nana Asare Bentum III, Chief of Gye Wani Nkwanta, asked teachers not only to impart knowledge and skills, but also assist the children to acquire attributes of moral uprightness such as honesty, truthfulness and integrity.

The Chief advised school children to be law-abiding and obedient. Nana Bentum appealed to the Birim North District Assembly to assist the people, a poor farming community, to reconstruct the Local Authority Junior High School, which is now at the verge of collapse and posed as a death trap.
