Bishop prays for economic achievements to affect the electorate

Koforidua, Feb. 11, GNA – The Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church, Rt. Rev. Francis Benjamin Quashie, has said he prayed that the economic achievements of the government would have a positive effect on the electorate for the country to experience a period when people would not beg their members of parliament for money. He said hard economic conditions had made the electorate to trade their political power for money from politicians.

“Politicians have taken advantage of the situation and do not speak the truth to the electorate,” Rt Rev Quashie said in a sermon at a service for five evangelists and 28 catechists to renew their vows. He urged the evangelists and catechists to conduct themselves in a manner that would make positive impression on anybody who interacted with them.
