Accident claims five lives

Mankron (E/R), Jan. 31, GNA – Five persons died on the spot when an articulator truck loaded with empty bottles from Kumasi to Accra crashed

into two vehicles at Mankron in the Suhum Kraboa Coaltar District on Monday killing five persons on the spot.

Mr Kwaku Afari, Assembly member for Asuboa electoral area told the Ghana News Agency that, the truck driver, who was speeding lost control over the vehicle and rammed into the two vehicles. He said the bodies of the dead who are yet to be identified have been deposited at the Suhum Government Hospital pending autopsy. The Suhum Police, who confirmed the incident to the GNA said investigating into the accident was on-going.

The police said a search had been mounted for the arrest of the driver who is on the run. 31 Jan. 08
