Akpini chiefs urged to maintain peace for Togbega Dagadu’s funeral

Ho, Jan. 28, GNA – Togbe Kosi Sasraku, IV, Paramount Chief of the Tsrukpe Traditional Area, has asked chiefs in the Akpini Traditional Area to maintain the current cordiality among them throughout the preparations and interment ceremonies of the Togbega Dagadu, VII, late Paramount Chief of the area.

He said plans were progressing steadily for the burial ceremonies at a date to be announced later, a statement released by the Funeral Planning Committee on Monday stated. Togbe Sasraku made the plea at the launch of a mourning cloth for the funeral at Kpando.

Akpini State divisional and sub chiefs, among others, attended the launch.

As part of the burial rites, a delegation of chiefs from the area had formally informed President John Agyekum Kufuor of the death of the chief, who had at a time been a member of the Council of State. The late Togbe Dagadu reigned for 16 years.
