Kumasi, Jan. 22, GNA- A 33 year old driver’s mate, has
been remanded into prison custody for allegedly defiling a 13
year old pupil. Razak Abdul pleaded not guilty to the charge and would
reappear before the court on February 14, this year. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Comfort Baffour Kyei,
told the court presided over by Madam Wilhelmina Hammond
that, the victim resides at Ejisu Zongo with her mother whiles
the accused is a neighbour, who had a good relationship with
the victim. She said on December 27, last year, at about 15:30 hours,
the victim was been by her guardians and on her way Razak
called her and asked her to run an errands for him, which she
obliged. The victim after returning from the errand was again asked
by the accused to sweep his room. While sweeping, Razak grabbed her from behind and
pushed a rag into her mouth to prevent her from shouting, and
forcibly had anal sex with her. The accused, who was not satisfied with the first act,
carried the victim from the floor and put her on his bed and
had sex with her. He then warned her not to tell anyone, but the girl informed
her mother immediately she got home. A report was made to the police and Razak was arrested,
investigated and charged.
