Male boarders of Leklebi SHS displaced by flood

Leklebi (V/R), Jan. 11, GNA-A total of 40 male boarders of the of Leklebi Senior High School (SHS) in the Hohoe District have been displaced following the collapsed of the School’s Boys Dormitory as a result of heavy rains in the area a few weeks ago.

The building, which was constructed about 35 years ago, destroyed personal belongings of the students worth several thousands of Ghana Cedis. The students who resumed school recently are reported to be lodging with their day counterparts in town. Mr Thomas Odikro, Headmaster of the School in an interview with the ” We are all down about the situation and it is affecting teaching and learning because the students are unable to settle down for studies’, he said.

The Headmaster therefore appealed to stakeholders in education, the Member of Parliament of the area and the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to come to the aid of the School to enhance smooth academic work.
