Takoradi To Get Cenotaph

Sekondi The Ministry of Defence is to build a cenotaph at Tanokrom, near Takoradi for parades and other ceremonial functions. This is to forestall the inconvenience caused to the public when holding military parades at the present Takoradi cenotaph. Lt Colonel Kaku Korsah, Shama-Ahanta East Metropolitan Chief Executive, announced this at a meeting with the executives of Takoradi Board Sellers Association, whose members and carpenters are occupying the site meant for the project. He therefore, renewed the call to the board sellers and carpenters to leave the area, which is a military property and go to the Takoradi light industrial area at Kokompe to enable work to begin on the cenotaph. Lt Colonel Korsah said another reason why they have to leave the area, which is close to the Takoradi Airforce Station, is to prevent a catastrophe in the event of aeroplane accidents.
