Two ordained into General Assembly of Presbyterian Church

Tamale, Jan. 7, GNA – Madam Serlomey Fati Mumuni and Mr. Joseph Anaba both professional teachers and members of the Presbyterian Church were on Sunday ordained into the General Assembly Council (GAC) of the Church at Tamale. Madam Mumuni and Mr. Anaba, who have served the Church in various capacities in Tamale and Bolgatanga, would now be representing sector churches at the meetings of the GAC. Rev Kwesi Addae Naami, Chairman of the Northern Presbytery, urged them to always learn to speak the truth and stand by it in the discharge of their duties.

He said as members of the GAC, they would be deliberating on important issues concerning the welfare of the church and it was important that as the link between the lay people in the church and the GAC they were upright in whatever they did. He spoke against hypocrisy in preaching virtue and practicing vice and that it was a dangerous cancer among some pastors and Christians. Mr. Anaba expressed his and Madam Fati’s gratitude to the leadership of the church for giving them the opportunity to serve the Lord and asked for cooperation from members.
