One Ghana, One Voice will feature poems on Keta in January

Founded early in 2007, One Ghana, One Voice has quickly established itself as Ghana’s number one source for home-grown poetry. With the new year, One Ghana, One Voice highlighted some of its finest poems of 2007, written by up and coming Ghanaian poets such as Vida Ayitah, Prince Mensah and Selorm Agbleze. Voted most popular by readers was “Sankofa” by Edith Faalong, a student at the University of Ghana, Legon.

Looking to build on the success of 2007, the editors of One Ghana, One Voice aim to devote their coverage for the entire month of January to poems written about Keta. Poems expected to be featured will be written by both young voices and legendary ones.

“Keta has always been a source of inspiration for poets, from Kobena Eyi Acquah and the late Kwesi Brew, to modern poets such as Edith Faalong and Prince Mensah. Because of this we wanted to devote some serious coverage to writing on the town,” explains Rob Taylor, co-founder and editor of One Ghana, One Voice.

Coverage of poems on Keta will begin on January 6th and continue through the end of the month. Coverage of more general poems will resume in February.
