Takoradi Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Adha

Takoradi, Dec. 19, GNA – Mr. Anthony E. Amoah, Western Regional Minister, said on Wednesday that peace was vital for the development of any nation.

He said without it many investors, visions and plans of individuals would not be achieved.

Mr. Amoah said this at the Eid-ul-Adha prayers He said the formation of the Regional Peace advisory Council was part of government’s efforts at ensuring peace throughout the region. Mr. Amoah appealed to Muslims to continue to live in peace with each other and to support the nation to develop in all sectors. He said the Ghana 2008 football tournament could pose several challenges for the country and urged them to assist in whatever way they could.

The chief Imam of Takoradi, Sheikh Ustaz Awal, said the festival of sacrifice, apart from its spiritual relevance, had several health related issues that must not be overlooked.
