Ghana is becoming impure -Bishop Lodonu

Kpando Agbenoxoe (V/R), Dec. 10, GNA-The Catholic Bishop of Ho, Most Reverend Francis Lodonu, has said the country was gradually becoming “impure in every aspect of life.”
He said hard work, honesty and fellow feeling, which were synonymous to the name Ghana, had given way to voraciousness and immorality.
Bishop Lodonu said this on Sunday at a thanksgiving mass to climax the centenary celebrations of Our Lourdes Catholic Church at Agbenoxoe, near Kpando.
He said people no longer appreciated simplicity but excessive richness where “they build mountainous houses they cannot climb.” Most Rev Lodonu described the situation as unfortunate and ungodly and called on Christians to help reverse the trend. Monsignor Anthony Kornu called on parents to appeal to government to bring the teaching of moral education back to schools. He said its benefit could not be quantified and that it built life.
“Ghanaians are holy and pure people, let us not sell our birth right for indecent cultures and money.” Reverend Father Theodore Gakpe-Ntsri, Parish Priest of Our Lourdes Catholic Church, said the Church had transformed so many lives at Agbenoxoe.
It also enhanced the socio-economic development of the area because of the Agbenoxoe Grotto, one of the biggest grottos in the country, with big tourist attraction.
He said the centenary celebration marked the beginning of new things for all Catholics and urged them to trust God and remain committed to his work.
