Church goes to the aid of Orphanage

Awutu Bawjiase (C/R), Dec 8, GNA – The women group of the International Central Gospel Church in Winneba on Saturday donated items valued at 10 million cedis to the Bawjiase orphanage. The items included two bags of rice, one gallon of cooking oil, one box of toiletries, four packets of fruit juice, four suitcases of used cloths and one box of second hand sandals and shoes. Presenting the items Mrs. Karen Okoro, President of the group, said when they visited the orphanage some weeks ago they saw that the orphanage needed assistance, hence the donation.

The group prayed for God’s guidance for the children and appealed to other churches in Bawjiase to emulate the gesture. Receiving the items Mrs. Emma Boafo, founder of the orphanage, expressed appreciation to the donors and expressed the hope that benevolent societies and philanthropists would assist the orphanage since it relies on donors to operate.

Pastor Beneto Okoro, head Pastor of the Church, also appealed to philanthropists to donate items to the children, especially during the Christmas.
