Accra, Dec. 6, GNA – The National Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Thursday congratulated farmers and fishermen on the occasion of Farmers’ Day and urged them to remain steadfast in support of the country. In a statement signed by Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, National Organiser, the NDC said it was gratifying to note that the Day, instituted by Provisional National Defence Council to honour and encourage them to perform better, had grown from its humble beginnings to become what it was today.
“It is our belief that the NPP government will ensure that promises of good prices for farmers’ produce and grant of incentives to our cherished farmers to better their lives will be fulfilled.” The national awards would be held in Wa.
