Family Planning not for women alone – Apostle

Atiakrom (E/R), Nov. 28, GNA – Health workers have been advised not rpt not to focus Family Planning Education on women alone, but rather on couples.

Apostle Kadmel Agbelenyoh, Head of the Church of Theocracy, on Sunday told nurses of the church’s clinic at Atiakrom, Headquarters of the Church, that Family Planning Education in the country had been wrongly focused on women saying; “whether we like it or not, men are the de-facto heads of most families especially in the rural communities”. He, therefore, urged them to start talking to the men on family planning to enable them to make meaningful headway on the programme. Apostle Agbelenyoh appealed to medical authorities to take steps to find out the causes of frequent incidence of typhoid fever in the area. He also called on the Environmental Health Department to intensify its health education to food sellers on the need to keep their premises clean to avoid food poisoning.
