Social Investment Fund assists Abompe community

Akim Abompeh (E/R), Nov. 07, GNA- The Social Investment Fund (SIF) is constructing a three-unit classroom block for the Salvation Army Junior High School at Akim Abompeh in the Eastern Region. The structure is made up of an office, store, staff common room, a Library, and a washroom.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency at Akim Abompeh, the headmaster of the school, Mr Clement Asare Nkafo said a day’s workshop would be organized for the seven-member committee to monitor the progress of work.

He said the members of the committee would be trained in leadership skills, team-work, conflict resolutions and record keeping. He said the SIF would provide 75 percent of the total funding for the project, while the Fanteakwa District Assembly provides 15 per cent with the community providing ten per cent. Meanwhile the community has released a two-hectare land for the project and would undertake communal labour to help finish the project early.
