Asantehemaa institutes scholarship scheme

Trabuom (Ash), Nov 1, GNA- Nana Afua Kobi Ampem, Asantehemaa, has instituted a scholarship scheme for first year students of the Afua Kobi Ampem Girls’ Senior High School at Trabuom in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District of Ashanti region.

The scheme is for only candidates who choose the school as their first choice and also obtain nine or 10 ones in the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE).

Mrs. Victoria Annan, Headmistress of the school made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Trabuom on Wednesday. She said the objective of instituting the scheme was to support the needy and brilliant students and also to encourage girl-child education in the region and the country as a whole.

The Headmistress commended the Asantehemaa for her initiative of instituting the scheme and urged students to take advantage of the opportunity and work harder to benefit from the scheme.

Mrs Annan said the School has been upgraded to a Model School for Science Education by the Ministry of Education and hoped that would improve facilities at the school to enhance teaching and learning of science subjects.
