Dakpema gets new regent

Tamale, Oct. 22, GNA – Mr. Iddrisu Alhassan, a 57-year-old Veterinary Office, was on Saturday installed the regent of Dakpema, amidst the firing of musketry, drumming and dancing on the main streets of Tamale.

He succeeds his late father, Mr. Rowland Alhassan who died a month ago at the age of 80.

The new regent pledged to continue with the good works of his father and asked for the guidance and good counsel of the elders. He pledged to foster understanding and unity among the people and also promote peace and the development of the area and Dagbon in general.
