NPP aspirant to revamp health and education

Bolgatanga, Oct 10, GNA – Dr Barfour Adjei-Bawuah, one of the presidential aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), says he would revamp the health and education sectors if he becomes President of Ghana.

He said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Bolgatanga after he had visited constituencies in the region to meet delegates and to seek their support at the NPP December congress to elect the party’s presidential candidate.

Dr Adjei-Bawuah, Ambassador in Japan, said although there had been some improvement in the health and education sectors, there was still room for improvement.

“The health and education sectors are the central pivot to any nation’s development and therefore need to be given much attention.” He said he would ensure that conditions of services of health workers and teachers got improved to retain them in their vocations. Dr Adjei-Bawuah would ensure that health and educational facilities were rehabilitated and expanded.

He said if elected the President, he would transform the National Youth Employment Programme by gender mainstreaming it because the programme, as it is now, employs only few women. ”One of my ambitions is to ensure that the country’s economy grows stronger.”

” Ghana is an endowed country and with a good leadership and management, it will be able to make every citizen comfortable and proud to be a Ghanaian,” the presidential aspirant said
