I’ll tackle corruption vigorously – Hackman

Oyoko (E/R), Oct. 10, GNA- Mr Hackman Owusu-Agyemang, a Presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said if became President, corruption would be tackled vigorously.

“All assets declaration by all government appointees, including Directors, must be verifiable and superintended by non-partisan committee of Parliament and other regulatory bodies”, he said.

Mr Owusu-Agyemang, who was lunching his campaign to be elected NPP Presidential candidate at the party’s congress in December, campaign at Oyoko, said under his watch as president, oil revenue to be accrued would be used judiciously to benefit the people.

He said “we shall definitely learn and avoid the mistakes of other African oil producing countries”.

Mr Owusu-Agyemang said his government would pursue an aggressive job creation programme through the private sector and encourage balanced consumption to spur the economy.

“We shall positively encourage the manufacturing and the assembly of most items, from dog chains through agriculture products to cars to spur growth”.

He said his government would seek to re-establish a car assembly plant as a matter of urgency and that it was his conviction that the engineering and production capacity of Ghana was of age.

Mr Owusu-Agyemang said as president, he and his team would work closely with other institutions and to research and implement alternate sources of energy to bring permanent relief to all Ghanaians.

He said to continue the good works of the NPP government, there was the need for a new kind of leadership absolutely committed and impatient for change, “a leadership that knows how to reinvent government to help solve the real problems of the people”.

He said he believed he could provide that dynamic, purposeful leadership that would rekindle the hope, aspirations and dreams of Ghanaians.
