Poor prices and lack of storage facilities affect farmers

Mankranso (Ash), Aug 31, GNA- Livestock, poultry and food crop farmers in the Ahafo-Ano South District of Ashanti have observed that poor prices for their produce and the lack of storage facilities affects their work.

They have therefore appealed to the government to ensure that good prices were offered for their produce and the provision of adequate storage facilities to enable them reap profits.

They made the appeal at a day’s seminar for poultry, livestock and food crop farmers at Mankranso organized by the District Directorate of Food and Agriculture.

It was aimed at equipping the participants with managerial skills to enhance their work and contribute meaningfully towards food security. Mr Victor Owusu-Ansah, District Agricultural Extension Officer, said their work as agents was vital in agricultural production and urged farmers to heed their advice on modern methods of agriculture to improve their yields.
