Buokrom Town Council elects its Chairman

Kumasi, Aug. 20, GNA – Mr Kwabena Baah-Acheamfour, Manhyia Sub- Metropolitan Co-ordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), was at the weekend elected as the Chairman of the Buokrom Town Council in Kumasi.

He polled seven votes to beat Mr Churchill Francis Brobbey and Nana Anthony Nsiah, both Kumasi based businessmen who had five votes each. Mr Emmanuel Aidoo, Administrator of the Manhyia Sub Metropolitan Assembly, said the role of the chairman was crucial in the deliberations and activities of the Town Council.

He appealed to the members to work as team to ensure the development of the area.

Mr Baah-Acheamfour commended the members for the confidence in electing him as chairman.

He promised to work towards the development of the area and appealed to the members as well as the residents to give their support to ensure development of the area, The Council is made up of Buokrom Estate, Sepe, Duase and Dote communities. 20 Aug. 07
