Akundikiya expresses concern about disunity in PNC

Bolgatanga, Aug. 15, GNA – Mr George Akundikiya, a leading member of People’s National Convention (PNC), has expressed concern about disunity within the party and appealed to activists to bury their differences and re-unite to win power in 2008.

Speaking to Ghana News Agency in Bolgatanga on Tuesday after the Bolgatanga Constituency Delegates Conference to elect executives, Mr Akundikiya noted that the party had a noble objective to champion the cause of development in the country as President Dr Kwame Nkrumah, did in the past.

“This dream could only be achieved when the internal rumbling within the party is resolved,” he added.

Mr Akundikiya appealed to party executives and supporters to work strongly to win more souls to the party and urged other Nkrumahists to join the PNC for total victory in 2008.

All the incumbent executive members were re-elected unopposed. They were, Mr Lawren Anamolga, Chairman, Mr Michael Aduko, First Vice Chairman, Mr Peter Dakurugu, Second Vice Chairman, Mr Asonga Oliver, Third Vice Chairman, Mr Daniel Agolmah, Secretary and Mr Peter Akolgo Akunlibe, Assistant Secretary.

The others were, Mr Ayine Johnson, Organising Secretary, Mr Issah Mohammed, Assistant Organising Secretary, Mr Iddrisu Azure, Youth Organiser, Mr Yakubu Atogtue, Assistant Youth Organiser, Ms Agebinege Margaret, Women’s Organiser and Ms Laaribri Ayine Assistant Women’s Organiser.

The rest were Mr Sule Aberinga, Treasurer, Mr Ayimbila Daniel, Assistant Treasurer and Mr David Nteeh, Propaganda Secretary. Mr Anamolga, on behalf of his colleagues thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in them and pledged to work hard to move the party forward.
