Traditional Council commends Police

Accra, May 16, GNA – The Osu Traditional Council on Tuesday commended the Police for its co-operation in enforcing the ban on drumming in the area.

In a statement in Accra, it said that the prompt response of the Police to stop some drinking bars and night clubs around the Osu R. E. who were violating the ban averted what could have led to violence.

The Council appealed to the police in other parts of the Ga Traditional Area to emulate their Osu counterparts to ensure an incident free prelude to Homowo.

Meanwhile the Acting Osiahene of Osu, Nii E. Q. Nortey has urged the leaders of the Christ Apostolic Church to try as much as possible to control noise at the church premises within the area to avert possible confrontation between its members and the community.
