Minister commends Dawu youth

Dawu(E/R), May 15, GNA- The Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo has commended the Dawu Youngsters Association (DYA) for single handedly constructing a 1.5 kilometre by-pass for the Dawu township.

He said the Eastern regional co-ordinating council appreciates the efforts of benevolent societies which have been contributing towards the development of the region.

Mr Ofosu-Ampofo made the remarks when he inspected the 1.5 kilometre road with some executive members of the DYA at Dawu at the weekend. He assured the members of DYA that he would carry their sentiments to the appropriate quarters and the regional co-ordinating council for them to see how best to assist the association to complete the construction of the road.

Mr Seth Yeboah, national chairman of DYA said, the association has spent about 60 million cedis to construct the road to help reduce traffic during festive occasions when the only road through the town is blocked.

He appealed to the Eastern regional co-ordinating council to help tar the road so that the rains would not (rpt) destroy it.
