Cobbler for defiles eight-year-old girl

Kumasi, July 31, GNA – A Kumasi Circuit Court has remanded a 20-year-old cobbler in custody for allegedly defiling an eight-year-old pupil many times.

Avabile Kramo pleaded not guilty and he will re-appear in court on August 21.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Archibald Kwesi Fandoh, told the court, presided over by Madam Wilhemina Hammond, that Kramo resided at Tafo-Nhyiaeso, whereas the victim and her parents also lived at Maakro, both in Kumasi.

He said the accused, who had sex with the girl many times and threatened her not tell anyone about it after giving her 10GP (1,000 cedis), again lured her into an uncompleted building and forcibly had sex with her on July 16 this year.

Chief Inspector Fandoh said after the act, the girl started bleeding and Kramo used his handkerchief to clean her genitalia and asked her to go home after issuing his usual threats. The prosecution said three days later, the girl’s mother noticed her daughter could not walk properly and after interrogating her, she told her about her ordeal with the accused.
