TWU to hold 7th Quadrennial Congress at Cape Coast

Accra, July 30, GNA – The Timber and Woodworkers Union (TWU) of the TUC is to hold its 7th Quadrennial delegates conference at the Auditorium of the University of Cape Coast from August 1. The thee-day conference is on the theme: “The timber trade and industry today in the nation’s socio-economic development: The role of the Union.

A statement issued in Accra on Monday by Mr Joshua Ansah, General Secretary of the Union said Professor Dominic Fobih, Minister of Lands Forestry and Mines would deliver the keynote address.

The statement said other speakers would include Mr Ato Arthur, Central Regional Minister and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast Rev. Professor Emmanuel Adow Obeng.

The Secretary General of the Ghana TUC Mr Kwasi Adu-Amankwa would also address the delegates at the conference, which is expected to take stock of activities of the past four years and formulate strategies for the years ahead, the statement added.
