President Jerry John Rawlings supported the candidature of Vice President John

Evans Atta Mills as the presidential candidate of National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Stressed that the issue of a running mate is the prerogative of the presidential candidate Appealed to members not to allow the opposition to capitalise on non-existent tribal consideration in the choice of a running mate. He would encourage women to get their voices heard in decision making both at party and government levels.

President Rawlings appeals to those that left the party to come back He would stay in the country when he steps down. He has received invitation to get engaged in international politics. He has not turned them down but has made it known that the security and interest of the country would be considered first.

Appeal to the media to spare Vice President Mills the bashing he and the party have received in the media. The media could criticise but it must be done in decent language.
