Accra, April 29, GNA – Dr Edward Mahama, Leader and presidential candidate of the Peoples’ National Convention (PNC) on Saturday, congratulated Professor John Atta Mills on his endorsement as the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“We wish to extend to you our warmest congratulations on the happy occasion of your election as the flagbearer of the NDC to contest in the presidential election in December, this year”
In a statement issued in Accra, Dr Mahama described Professor Mills as “the second man in the current government, which has led the country for the past 20 years into this quagmire.”
“As you should already be aware, the country is in a very deep crisis, the enormity of which is unprecedented” the statement said. The PNC urged Professor Mills to make himself answerable to the people of Ghana.
Dr Mahama challenged Professor Mills to a number of debates on issues of the national economy, the fast deteriorating moral values, corruption in higher places of government and other pertinent national concerns.
He said this would enable the electorate to make informed and intelligence decision affecting their lives and the progress of the country.
