New boss for National Communications Authority

Accra, June 27, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor has appointed Mr Bernard Aidoo Forson Jnr., as the Director-General of the National Communications Authority with effect from Wednesday, 1st August, 2007.

A statement issued by Mr. Andrew Awuni, Press Secretary to the President, said the appointment was in accordance with the advice of the National Communications Authority Board and in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

Mr. Forson Jnr. replaces Major John R. K. Tandoh (Rtd), who proceeds on retirement.

Before his appointment, Mr. Forson Jnr. was the Deputy Director-General of the National Communications Authority, a position he has held since January, 2002.

Mr Forson Jnr. is a Telecommunication Management Executive with over 30 years experience.

He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Graduate Business School and University of Ghana. In addition, he has pursued other programmes in Economic and Technology Management at Boston University and the Haas School, University of California.

The statement said President Kufuor has expressed his profound gratitude to Major Tandoh for his invaluable services to the NCA and to the nation and wished him well in his retirement.
