Two remanded for assaulting building inspector

Wa, June 22, GNA- The Wa Police have remanded two persons in prisons custody charged with threatening to harm and assaulting the Wa Municipal Building Inspector, Mr. Osman Abdulai. Police Public Affairs Officer, Inspector Ebenezer Tetteh told the and Abdulai Mohammed Mumuni together with one Nicolas who is now on the run building on a waterway without any permit. He said when Mr. Abdulai ordered them to stop work, the accused persons became offended and started insulting him threatening to harm him with the tools that they were using at he site.

Realising that his life was in danger, Mr. Abdulai reported the accused behaviour to the police who accompanied him to the building site. He said when the accused saw the police with the complainant; they became more aggressive toward him. Mr Tetteh said in an attempt to arrest the accused persons they bolted but the police traced them to their hideout and apprehended the two. The accused persons have since been brought before the Wa Magistrate Court and would reappear on July 5, while a bench warrant had been issued for the arrest of Nicolas.
