Hunter shoots colleague during expedition

Hohoe, June 17, GNA – A 40-year old, Adua Obimpeh, a renowned hunter at Akpafu-Mempeasem in the Hohoe District met his death when his colleague during expedition mistook him for a game, shot and killed him. Briefing the Ghana News Agency, Hohoe District Police Commander, Kwabena Antwi-Boasiako said Emmanuel Addai, 35, and the deceased set out to hunt for game on June 14, this year and later parted way in the forest.

He said Addai, who was retreating after a fruitless expedition, spotted a game at around 0430 hours on June 15 and shot at it, which later turned out to be his hunting colleague. The Police Commander said Addai had been arrested and placed in Police custody to assist investigations, while the deceased’s body has been deposited at the hospital for autopsy. 17 June 07
