Atwima-Nwabiahya DHIS ends outreach programme

Nkawie (Ash), June 13, GNA- A month’s outreach programme to educate the people on the need to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme in the Atwima-Nwabiagya district has ended. Under the special programme, people who register during the period would be issued with their identity cards within a month. Mr David Opoku Twumasi, Public Relations Officer of the District’s Health Insurance Scheme, disclosed this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Nkawie on Tuesday.

He said the exercise was designed to whip up enthusiasm and interest in the people to register with the scheme to enable them to access free health care delivery.

Mr Twumasi said the programme, which will be on periodic basis would be organized as and when the situation demanded. He said about 42 communities including churches had been covered under the programme.
