Kumasi, April 16, GNA – Nana Akwasi Agyeman, Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, at the weekend reiterated the need for residents to help to keep the communities clean.
The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) was doing everything possible to provide sanitary facilities and services to create healthy environment and they should complement its efforts.
Nana Agyeman was commissioning a 40 million-cedi public water closet facility at Yalewa, behind the Zongo Police Station in Kumasi. The World Bank and Ghana government jointly funded it as part of the Kejetia Project.
He said the government does not discriminate in the distribution of social amenities and stressed the need for all to support government’s efforts and vote massively for it to continue with its developmental drive.
Nana agyeman urged the people to maintain the facility, adding that not all communities have got what they wanted and as such they should be proud of it and use it as their personal property.
The Metropolitan Chief Executive asked them not to hesitate to report or expose criminals living in the area to the security agencies since that was the only way to ensure peace and tranquillity in the society.
Alhaji Yahaya Sadan Ki, Chief of Asawasi Zongo, who deputised for the Sariki Zongo, Alhaji Abubakar Ali II, commended the government for its efforts to improve on the health situation at the Zongo.
He said the people recognised the efforts of government and would reciprocate by voting massively for it during the general election for it to continue to assist them.
