Power cuts dislocate mobile phone network

Nkwanta, (V/R), May 24, GNA-The telecommunication network in the Nkwanta district have become less reliable in recent times as a consequence of the power crisis.

The supply of diesel to the stations of Areeba and Tigo-the only tecommunication networks, for running their generating plants has also not been helpful either.

Mr. Francis Onipanka, a caretaker at the Areeba site station in Nkwanta said the station could not get its full complement of diesel supply when a tanker belonging to its network’s operators Scancom Limited was in the district recently to distribute diesel. He said he was making efforts to contact the Areeba area Manager at Kpando on the situation.

A source at the Nkwanta Tigo station said the situation had compelled a public official to guarantee diesel supply to power the generating plant to bring its network back to life.
