DCE commissions 88 million cedis projects

Asamankese (E/R), April 11, GNA – Mr Emmanuel Kwaku Asante, District Chief Executive for West Akim, has emphasised that, if past governments had attached importance to meaningful development at the grassroots level, Ghana would have moved ahead.

He said the policies and programmes of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which focus on the improvement in the life of ordinary Ghanaians and development at the grassroots level could not be over-emphasised.

The DCE said this when he commissioned a 34 million-cedi sceptic tank and two-bore-holes at the cost of 54 million cedis at Ammako near Asamankese. The sceptic tank facility was funded from the District Assemblies’ Common Fund while the boreholes were financed from a Japanese government grant with the community offering communal labour.

Mr Akuamoah Ofosu Boateng, a Minister of State and Member of Parliament for Lower West Akim, commended the people for their communal support and assured them of more development projects in the area.

He said he was making efforts to have the area connected to the national electricity grid. Mr Ofosu Boateng urged them to rally behind the NDC and vote massively for it to retain power to enable it to accomplish its programmes to make the nation realise the Vision 2020
