Farmer remanded for stealing personal belongings

Mankranso (Ash), May 22, GNA – The Mankranso magistrate court has remanded a 26-year-old farmer at Adugyama in the Ahafo-Ano south district into prison custody for unlawful entry and stealing. Abdul Karim, the suspect, pleaded guilty and will re-appear on May 29.

Police Inspector Abraham Agyei-Mensah told the court presided over by Mr Frank Owusu-Afriyie that on May 12, this year, at about 1600 hours, the complainant, Victoria Fofie returned from farm only to see her room broken into and her two briefcases, wall clock and her husband’s pair of shoes stolen.

He said the following day, Karim was spotted wearing the shoes and the complainant quickly informed her husband who together with others arrested the accused and handed him over to the Mankranso police. During interrogation Karim admitted the offence and was therefore charged.
