Friendship force to assist to pay water bills of inmates

Kumasi, April 10, GNA – The Friendship Force of Kumasi, a benevolent association, is to assist the Kumasi Children’s Home to pay its water bills.

Mr Kwame Amoah Acheampong, Co-ordinator of the association, said this when its members presented 200,000 cedis, a bag of rice, soap and quantities of used clothing and shoes worth one million cedis to the Home on Saturday.

He said the association would soon meet to decide on the actual percentage of the bill to pay every month for the Home. The association has also decided to organise religious activities to prepare the inmates for a better future.

Mr Joseph Kofi Boakye, Secretary, said in addition to the presentation, members would interact with the inmates to know more about their problems. Alhaji Baba Dramani, an executive member of Friendship Force of Kumasi, said it was established to promote peace among the people and to assist the poor and needy.

Miss Cecilia Baffoe-Bonney, Child Care Officer of the Home, thanked the association for its kind gesture. She appealed to other organisations and institutions to assist the Home to pay its mounting electricity and water bills.
