Going to court is now my job – Konadu Rawlings

Former first lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has said that going to court has now become a profession for her. According to her the continued harassment of her family and her 31st December Women’s Movement by government has taken a great deal of his time.

Speaking to Kojo Marfo on Angel fm in Kumasi, She said there are other programmes she could have pursued had it not been the court cases. The interview touched on her life out of power and the state of her movement. Mrs. Rawlings stated that it is a calculated attempt by government to frustrate her efforts at empowering women and the vulnerable in the country. She cited the take over of some 31st December Day care centers, Nkawam Cannery, the Kpong Akatamanso Chocolate factory and others to buttress her point. She also touched on current socio political issues questioning the redenomination exercise. He challenged government to make known the amount of money in the country now. Mrs. Rawlings explained issues surrounding her daughter’s relationship with Salasie Djantu and the identification her cut.

Nana Konadu noted that she does not choose boyfriends for her daughters when the host pushed her on whether she could give one of her three daughters out. The interviewed was widely listened to and by the time it ended a large crowd has gathered at the premises of Angel fm wanting to catch a glimpse of the former first lady. She was in Kumasi as part of celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of the movement.
