Kumasi celebrates child health promotion week

Kumasi, May 6, GNA – The weeklong celebration of the child health promotion in the Kumasi metropolis would be held from May 7 to 12.

The celebration was instituted by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to promote the health of children.

Dr Joseph Oduro, Kumasi Metropolitan Director of Health Services, announced this at a meeting with health workers in Kumasi at the weekend.

He said activities planned in connection with the celebration include immunization against the six-childhood killer diseases, sale of bednets, registration of birth of children and the promotion of the sale of iodated salt.

Dr Oduro appealed to mothers to patronize the celebration to help improve the health status of their children.
