Ashitey elected unopposed

Tema, March 27, GNA — Mr Ishmael Ashitey, New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP for Tema East, was on Sunday elected unopposed as the party’s Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency for the December 2000 presidential and parliamentary elections at a delegates conference at Tema.

According to the delegates, Mr Ashitey exhibited good qualities of a leader during his tenure of office as an MP. Mr Ashitey thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and assured them of working harder to enable the constituency retain the seat.

He called for their continued support and asked them to offer constructive and meaningful criticisms whenever he goes wrong.
