Training course for 70 health extension workers opens at Nyinahin

Nyinahin (Ash), April 18, GNA- Mr Wilberforce Owusu-Ansah, Atwima-Mponua District Chief Executive, on Wednesday said the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) had given employment opportunities to the youth in the country and lauded the government for the initiative. He appealed to the youth to take advantage of the programme to acquire skills that would enable them improve their livelihood.

Mr Owusu-Ansah was speaking at the opening of a six-month training course for 70 health extension workers under the NYEP at Nyinahin. The trainees would be taken through basic health delivery for two months and another four months practical work.

The DCE advised the trainees to appreciate the government’s effort and work hard to complete the training.

Mrs Belinda Baffoe-Bonnie, District Director of Health Services, reminded the trainees that health care delivery needed disciplined and committed people to handle it.

She urged them to be serious with the course to enable them to assist improve health delivery in the area.

Mr Collins Addai, the District Co-ordinator of the NYEP, asked the youth to embrace the programme to enhance their living conditions.
