Farmer remanded for slashing wife’s arm

Cape Coast, April 17, GNA – A 47-year old farmer who allegedly slashed off his wife’s left arm without provocation was on Tuesday remanded by a circuit court at Cape Coast to enable the police to further investigate what triggered his action. The plea of Yaw Antwi was not taken and he would be re-arraigned on Monday May 7.

The facts were not read in court but the prosecutor, Police Chief Inspector Hope Azasoo who briefed the GNA, said Antwi, who lived with his wife Madam Yaa Nimo at Edumfa near Abura-Dunkwa, committed the alleged crime on Saturday.

Chief Inspector Azasoo said her screams attracted some neighbours who rushed her to the Central Regional Hospital where she was currently on admission. 17 April 07
