Christians mark Easter with church services and conventions

Pusiga (U/E), April 9, GNA – Church services and conventions were held in churches in the Bawku municipality to mark the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The theme that ran through most of the sermons was reconciliation, selflessness and forgiveness.

In a sermon to end a three-day convention at Pusiga, Rev. Timothy Kere, Bawku District Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, appealed to Christians to use the period for sober reflection to seek genuine reconciliation and move the nation forward. He said the death and resurrection of Christ was a call to all mankind to offer sacrificial and selfless services to all to make the world a better place.

Rev. Kere appealed to Christians in leadership positions to exhibit exemplary lifestyles for the youth to emulate adding, “some of the leaders’ behaviour leaves much to be desired”. “The world can be a better place as we all wish it to be if we forgive each other and go the extra mile to offer unconditional services to one another,” he said.
