Minister of Health to lead six-man delegation

Accra, April 5, GNA – A six-member Ghana delegation to be led by the Minster of Health, Major Courage E. K. Quashigah (RTD) would attend the third Ordinary Session of African Union Conference of Ministers of Health from 9th to 13th April in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Other members of the delegation are, Professor F. A. Sai, Presidential Advisor on HIV/AIDS, Dr Frank Nyonator, Director, PPME GHS, Dr George Amofa, Director Public Health, GES, Mr. Isaac Adams, Director, MOH and Mr. Emmanuel Enos, Head, Chancery (Ghana Mission, Ethiopia).

In a statement signed by Mr Dan Osman Mwin, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Health, the meeting would discuss the Draft African Strategy on the theme: Strengthening of Health System for Equity and Development and also listen to Reports of the Outgoing Chairpersons of the AU conference of Ministers of Health and the AU Commission respectively.

It said the Draft Africa Health Strategy encompasses governance, human resource for health, financing, social protection and community security.

The rest include African Traditional medicine, community participation, strengthening partnerships, health information and research surveillance, emergency preparedness and response. The delegation will return to Accra on 14th of April.
