Science Resource Centre opened at Breman Asikuma

Breman Asikuma (C/R), April 5, GNA – The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has inaugurated a Science Resource Centre to help promote the teaching and learning of science in the district.

Inaugurating the centre that has been equipped with science materials and books the District Director of Education, Mrs. Janet Ama Lassey, said the centre would enable teachers to refresh their minds. Mrs. Lassey said articles and handiworks produced by students and teachers at Science Technology and Mathematics clinics in the district annually would be kept at the centre for the benefit of every school child in the district.

She appealed to pupils and teachers to visit the Centre regularly. The District Chief Executive, Mr. Emmanuel Adjei Doomson, expressed the hope that the establishment of the centre would help improve the academic standard of the children in the district. He said the assembly has put in place incentives for teachers who would accept postings to the district.
