Asuoyeboa Catholic Church elevated to parish status

Kumasi, March 27, GNA – Saint Peter’s Catholic Church at Asuoyeboa in the Kumasi metropolis has been elevated to a parish status by the Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi.

The church formerly under Saint Mary’s parish at Kwadaso, now has Atwima-Techiman, Denchemuoso and other communities as its new outreach stations.

Most Reverend Gabriel Justice Anokye, Auxiliary Bishop of Kumasi Catholic Archdiocese, in a sermon, stressed the need for Ghanaians to unite to develop the country. He said Ghanaians had been blessed with peace and was optimistic it would be sustained.

Most Rev Anokye asked Rev Father Samuel K. Owusu the Parish priest to work harder and propagate the gospel to win more souls for Jesus Christ. Rev Owusu pledged to serve the congregation diligently and called for support of the members to ensure growth and development of the parish. 27 March 07
