Exactly one year ago tomorrow, Friday 25th February 1999, the entire Asante Kingdom was devastated by the news that the 15th occupant of the Golden Stool has gone to Breman.
Indeed Otumfuo Opoku Ware II (1919-1999) bid his nation state the final goodbye and joined Nananom in eternity.
As custom demands, the first anniversary was observed in the Asante Kingdom today, Thursday 24th February 2000.
The final funeral rites take place in Kumasi from Akwasidae Sunday 19th March through to Sunday 2nd April 2000.
