Three remanded for alleged murder

Koforidua, Feb. 22, GNA – Three persons have been remanded in Police custody by the Suhum Community Tribunal for allegedly murdering a 30-year-old farmer, Kwame Siaw, at the Ampedwee village near Nankese.

The plea of Ebenezer Kwame Gyekyo, Opanin Baafour Ansah Sesereku and Kwame Adu was not taken. A police statement in Koforidua said that Siaw died at the Koforidua Central Hospital following severe injuries he sustained when the suspects assaulted him on February six.

It said Siaw was beaten when he allegedly insulted and refused to give his radio to the suspects to listen to the Black Stars-Bafana Bafana match at the CAN 2000 Soccer tournament The body has been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary for autopsy.
