Dompoase Secondary School crying for assistance.

Dompoase (Ash), Feb. 8, GNA – Mr Asamoah Owusu-Achaw, the new Headmaster of Dompoase Secondary School (DOSS), has appealed to the Government and Non-Governmental Organisation (NGOs) to go to the aid of the school to redeem it from further deterioration.

The Headmaster made the call when the new Adansi West District Director of Education, Mr S. K. Okyere, paid a familiarisation visit to the school at the weekend.

Mr Owusu-Achaw conducted the District Director round a number of buildings including the classroom, science and dormitory blocks, which have been left to deteriorate over the years without any rehabilitation.

DOSS has many building but some have been abandoned in the bush to while others are having leaking roofs. The Headmaster told the District Director that over five million cedis would be needed immediately to rehabilitate the school’s aged Bedford truck and appealed to the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Adansi West District Assembly for assistance.

Mr Owusu-Achaw announced that his administration had introduced computer training into the school’s curriculum with the expectation that “within a period of three years the students should become computer-literate”.

The District Director commended the Headmaster for his good initiative and assured that his administration would find ways to provide some of the needs of the school.
